fall/winter class options for adults and 11-15 year-0lds

Beginner/Intermediate 11-15 year-olds - September and October

Located at Chanhassen HS


AGES 11-15  The emphasis of this class is to develop an enthusiasm for the game of tennis. The students in this class range from beginner, to those that have taken previous classes. The focus will be on serving and being able to rally with proper grips and techniques. Increasing the student's athleticism, agility, balance, and fine motor skills will also be a key focal point. Please bring your appropriate sized tennis racquet and a water bottle. 


Saturdays (2 class times) - September 6 - October 4 - 11:30-12:30 or 12:30-1:30

The rainout makeup days will be on October 11, 18 and 25

Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced 11-15 year-olds - November and December

Located at Bluff Creek Elementary


Beginner Tennis AGES 11-15  This beginner-level class is perfect for those new to the game of tennis and looking to build a strong foundation. The focus will be on learning proper grips, serving, and rallying techniques, while also developing athleticism, agility, balance, and fine motor skills. Our goal is to spark a love for the game in a fun and supportive environment. Please bring a properly sized tennis racket and a water bottle.


2 options:

Tuesdays - Nov 11 - Dec 9 from 6-7 pm

Thursdays - Nov 13 - Dec 18 from 6-7 pm (No class on Nov 27)

Intermediate/Advanced Tennis AGES 11-15  This class is for the more experienced 11-15-year-old that has taken some previous tennis classes. If the participant has NOT taken a previous tennis class, this is NOT the ideal class for them. The focus of the class will be to improve the serve, volley and overhead utilizing proper grips and techniques. Increasing the student's athleticism, agility, balance, and fine motor skills will also be a  key focal point. Please bring your appropriately sized tennis racket and a water bottle. 


2 options:

Tuesdays - Nov 11 - Dec 9 from 7-8 pm

Thursdays - Nov 13 - Dec 18 from 7-8 pm (No class on Nov 27)

Adult Offerings In The Fall


Intermediate Tennis Drill - Located at Chanhassen High School

 

This drill is for the intermediate player who can sustain a rally with medium paced shots.  The NTRP rating for this drill is 3.0 to 3.5. The drill will consist of both live ball and instructor-fed drills focusing on different shots and different areas of the court. Be prepared for lots of movement and high-energy drills.  This is a weekly signup and only those registered at the correct level will be able to participate in the drill.  Confirmation must be received from Jim Mason and /or Community Education by the Friday before the drill in order to participate in the drill. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net.

Advanced Tennis Drill - Located at Chanhassen High School


This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to fast paced shots. The minimum NTRP rating for this drill should be 3.5 to 4.0. The drill will consist of both live ball and instructor fed drills, focusing on different shots and different areas of the court.
